Bargain of the Week: Missguided Playsuit

Missguided Siobhan Playsuit - £13.49

I thought I'd share my bargain purchase of the week. Missguided have a '50% off Winter Essentials' section, and this happened to be in it. I wouldn't class it as a 'Winter Essential', but it will look great for nights out in the Christmas period. Not only was this only £13.49, but the postage only cost £1 and I ordered it on the Sunday and received it on the Monday!
It's still 50% off, and available in all sizes... Here's where you can find it: http://www.missguided.co.uk/siobhan-textured-belted-playsuit-in-blush

Trend Guide: The Pastel Fluffy Jumper

The fluffy jumper is a must-have this A/W, and funnily enough, pastels are the shades to go for. I never would have gone for pastel shades in the Autumn and Winter, but candy pinks and baby blues were all over the A/W 13 catwalks and have since filtered down into the high street. There couldn't have been anything better currently in fashion than these jumpers - keeping warm in the freezing English weather and still looking chic is perfect. I am big on contrasting textures, so paired with some faux leather trousers or an asymmetric leather skirt with some thick black tights would look amazing. In my opinion, Primark is the best place to go for the fluffy jumper. They have loads of colours, and all for just £10 each!
Because you can't find Primark online, I found some examples of the next best thing:

Dupe Day: The Zara Skort

Zara Skort - £25.99
eBay Skort - £3.88

The last time I wore a skort was about 10 years ago for Brownies. But Zara brought the shorts-skirt combo back to our wardrobes in a much more sleek and stylish way. £25.99 is by no means expensive, but for the amount of wear that I would get out of a skort and with no certainty that it would stay in fashion, I wasn't willing to pay that amount. On a whim I typed in 'Skort' into eBay and literally 1000's of options appeared. You can pretty much guarantee that they will all be produced in the same place, so one costing £15 will be no better quality than one costing under £4. After scouring through the site I found the cheapest 'Buy it Now' option for £3.88 - yes I did just say £3.88. So I bought it in 3 colours ha! You will have to wait a few weeks for delivery but it'll be well worth it!
Stay tuned for some more 'Dupe Day' posts, I'll me spending my own well earned cash on dupes of the most popular fashion and beauty items of the moment for you guys to check out.

Christmas Gift Guide: The Christmas Jumper

The Christmas Jumper

Christmas day just wouldn't be the same without the garish festive jumpers. I thought I'd show you a few of my favourites on the high street, which would be fun stocking stuffer gifts to give or receive this Christmas. The 'Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal' is definitely going on my list - 'Home Alone 2' is such a classic at Christmas time!

Shopping My Stash: Naked 2 Palette

Naked 2 Palette - £30

I thought that I would create a new series of blog posts where I 'shop my stash', i.e. attempt to fall back in love with beauty items that I have neglected over the months.
The first item I dug out the draws was my Naked 2 palette after hiding it away for the past 6 months. I am extremely lazy with my eye makeup, a bit of mascara, and on the occasion some winged liner and I'm good to go.
I recently went to Aura Mayfair nightclub for a friend's 21st birthday which was the perfect occasion to get some use out of this palette. I created a brown smokey eye using the shades 'Half baked', 'Snakebite', 'YDK' and 'Busted', with some 'Bootycall' in my inner corners. (I will post some different looks you can create with this palette when I finally get a new tripod)
The £30 price tag sounds fairly expensive, but for 12 quality eye shadows with little fall out and great longevity, I think this palette is great value for money. It is the perfect neutrals palette with a mix of matte and shimmer shades, I have definitely fallen back in love. This would be a perfect present to give or receive this Christmas!

Trend Guide: Totally Tartan

Whether it be a skirt, a scarf or a shirt around your waist, tartan is a must have in the wardrobes of the fashion-savvy this A/W. The high-street has gone crazy for the punk inspired print, featuring in Topshop, Primark and Newlook to name but a few. It's the perfect way to inject that bit of Rihanna 'bad girl' vibe and even a hint of Scotland into a look. Try pairing a tartan skirt or trousers with a plain boyfriend tee. Or if you're going for something less daring throw on a tartan scarf with a khaki military jacket and some Chelsea boots. Tartan seems to be the print that gets me in the mood for wintry walks and the 'C' word - Christmas! Dressed up or down, tartan is here to stay for the cold days ahead...

Here are a few of my tartan picks for this A/W:

Haulin' #4 - Missguided

[Left to Right]

I'm ashamed with myself for not blogging in over a month... Juggling university, a job and my social life has proved harder than I thought! I thought I'd ease myself back into the world of fashion blogging with my favourite - a haul. These are just a few bits that I have purchase from Missguided over the last couple of weeks. I have had a bit of a love - hate relationship with Missguided, but I love it at the moment! But I have been really into wearing black recently - maybe its the change of weather. Monochrome and leathers are extremely popular this season and I can't seem to get enough. Plus, all of these items were bargains, all under £18 each. Go check out missguided.co.uk to see if there's any pieces you fancy for A/W.
